Chapter 1-8: Application Design Tools

Change All References

The Change All References utility performs a global search and replace operation throughout an application's design. For example, if you rename a field, you can change all references to the field from the old name to the new name. When you select change all references from the Tools menu, the menu shown below appears.

Change All References Menu

The Change All References menu allows you to choose what type of design component to change. When you select one of the menu items, a screen much like the one shown below appears.

Change All References (Fields) Screen

In this example, you would be allowed to change a field name. In other examples, you might change a process name, a domain name, or an application ID. In all cases, the application ID, along with any other appropriate information, will be requested. After entering the necessary values, press return to make the changes.
